64 Locust Avenue truly was a labor of love, involving a multi-year collaboration between the architect & the individual who commissioned the home. Built from the ground up in 2018, the house has high ceilings, few interior doors, & an abundance of natural light pouring in from floor-to-ceiling windows. Like an art gallery in concept, site lines are important, drawing you into & through rooms, beginning & ending in glass doors or walls that highlight the discreet gardens surrounding the property. The interior design emphasizes horizontal & vertical lines that add to a contemporary sensibility but are balanced by the warm hues of natural materials found throughout the home. Although initially conceived of as a 3-bedroom home, the front bedroom was built out as an office (with a wall of cabinetry) & a second bedroom was used as a media room. The gardens are understated courtyards, each offering unique visual and tactile experiences, including an inviting soaking tub waiting for you.
