This is really going to come down to the areas you want to live, that is part of the equation. For instance; newer construction can be ample or scarce depending on where you want to live and in certain areas. Clearly Mission Bay and South Beach are full of new construction. In older neighborhoods however there will be a full mix of building styles and dates they were building. In some of the older well establish areas like Russian Hill, Pacific Heights and Nob Hill you will find SFR, old Victorian condos and TIC’s in small buildings, larger co-op buildings from the 20-30’s with classic features, some mid century up to newer construction. So there is just a matter of knowing the various building and locations to determine if there is a match for what someone is looking for.
